A luncheon and talk by Judy Brown, Professor of Law Emerita at Northeastern University School of Law.

The latest clash in the constitutional culture wars is the invocation of "religious freedom" to justify refusing to comply with constitutional and statutory mandates. Co-sponsored by UV Chapter Americans United for Separation of Church & State and the UV Humanists Association.

Rochester Chapter hosting guest speaker Garrett Epps


On June 13, AU Rochester is bringing Garrett Epps to town to give a talk about how the "free exercise" of religion, guaranteed in the Constitution, has become a freedom to discriminate.  Epps is a legal scholar, nonfiction author and novelist.  He teaches constitutional law and writing at the University of Baltimore School of Law and is the Supreme Court correspondent for the Atlantic.com.
