Litany Of Lies: FRC’s Perkins Packs An Email With Copious Falsehoods

I realize that people may be tired of reading about the saga of Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Ky., clerk who is in jail because she ignored a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. But on Friday I received a blast email from Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council (FRC), that is so littered with lies that it demands a reply. Read more

Mad Men

Marriage equality is now the law of the land in the United States – a fact that is not sitting well with the Religious Right.

Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins took to one of FRC’s many publications to denounce AU’s work as evidence of Christian “persecution.” Read more

Radical Reactions: Yes, The Religious Right Is Freaking Out Over The Marriage Equality Ruling

The Washington Post over the weekend published a rather silly column online by Judd Birdsall, managing director of the Cambridge Institute on Religion & International Studies, asserting that opponents of same-sex marriage had reacted gracefully to Friday’s U.S. Supreme Court. Read more

Values Void: Victims Sadly Overlooked In Duggar Abuse Saga

For the past few years, I have been receiving emails from Josh Duggar.

Don’t get the wrong idea. We’re not friends or anything like that. I signed up to receive “action alerts” from the Family Research Council. The FRC was, until recently, Duggar’s employer, and many of the emails it sent came in Duggar’s name. The organization was clearly trying to exploit his reality TV star power. Read more
